Getting (TETRIX) Air in Vail, Colorado

How We Made The Grand Hyatt Even Grander

Vail, Colorado, located at the base of Vail Mountain, is a getaway for sports enthusiasts of all kinds. In the wintertime, skiers and snowboarders flock to the vacation destination in the hopes of ‘getting air’ on the slopes, and in the summer, it’s a hot spot for golfers and hikers.

With so many resorts to choose from, its important for venues in Vail to provide memorable accommodations worthy of 5-star reviews and repeat customers. Management at the Grand Hyatt recognized this, and enlisted help to transform two dining rooms and a recreational room into cozy and contemporary spaces for visitors to rest and rejuvenate.

Seeking a product that could both make a visual impact and would be easy to maintain and keep clean was of the utmost importance. With these goals in mind, Steve Manhart of Atlas Construction enlisted the help of Eddie Klune of Wood Walls Metal and More LLC, and together, they found the perfect solution: Sound Seal’s Poly-Coustix® Tetrix Air® panels.

Tetrix Air PET polyester acoustical panels are as sleek and stylish as they are sustainable. Made from 55% recycled content, these panels are 100% recyclable, an added benefit for this Earth-conscious establishment. Available in an array of sizes and colors, they are designed to work together to create interesting geometric patterns on flat surfaces.

Cut-outs integrated on the face of each acoustical panel allow Tetrix Air to be installed quickly and accurately from the front, leaving the hardware entirely concealed. This uninterrupted look achieved the desired visual impact management was seeking, particularly because panels in varying, complementary colors were chosen for the project. Able to be sanitized with common cleaners, Tetrix Air contributes to the cleanliness of the shared guest spaces in which it was incorporated.
